Creates a new Coordinator of Asylum Seeker Services position to be jointly appointed by the Governor and the Mayor of New York City

Coordinator will oversee integration of services across multiple state agencies including the Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance, Departments of State, Education and Health, Office of Children and Family Services, and Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services

Responsibilities include managing intake, statewide resettlement, health care, housing, education, language services, transportation, and access to federal programs for asylum seekers

Coordinator will also advocate for federal legislation and policies related to immigration

Defines "asylum seeker" as individuals who have applied for or are eligible to apply for asylum under federal law, or who qualify as refugees under the Immigration and Nationality Act
