Authorizes licensed pharmacists to administer FDA-approved reversible progestin-only contraceptive injections (such as Depo-Provera) under non-patient specific orders from physicians or nurse practitioners

Requires pharmacists to complete training approved by the commissioner before administering contraceptive injections

Mandates pharmacists provide patients with a self-screening risk assessment questionnaire and fact sheet, and repeat this process at minimum every 12 months for returning patients

Requires pharmacists to notify the patient's primary health care practitioner within 72 hours of administering a contraceptive injection, unless the patient opts out of such notification

Takes effect one year after becoming law, with regulatory changes authorized to begin immediately
