Expands optional disability coverage under General Municipal Law Section 207-c to allow any county (not just Nassau County) to provide coverage for county probation officers injured or sickened in the line of duty

Covered probation officers would receive full regular salary or wages from their employer until the disability ceases, plus all medical treatment and hospital care costs

Counties must opt in to provide this coverage for their probation officers; the benefit is not automatic or mandatory

Updates gendered language throughout the statute to gender-neutral terms ("their" instead of "his or her")

Takes effect immediately upon passage
