Grants David Morse eligibility to file for and receive accidental death benefits as the parent of deceased firefighter Peyton Morse, who died on March 12, 2021 while employed by the City of Watertown

Peyton Morse was a Tier 6 member of the New York State and Local Police and Fire Retirement System and did not have a statutory beneficiary eligible for accidental death benefits under current law

Benefits would be provided under sections 361 and 361-a of the Retirement and Social Security Law, with any amounts previously paid to the estate or David Morse deducted from future benefits

All costs will be borne by the State of New York, with an estimated immediate past service cost of approximately $1.70 million as a one-time payment
