Expands mandatory prenatal vitamin coverage to all medical, major medical, and comprehensive-type insurance policies, removing the previous requirement that the policy must specifically provide prescription drug coverage

Eliminates provisions allowing insurers to apply annual deductibles and coinsurance to prenatal vitamin coverage, effectively requiring coverage without cost-sharing

Applies to individual policies (section 3216), group policies (section 3221), and contracts issued by hospital service corporations, health service corporations, and medical expense indemnity corporations (section 4303)

Updates gendered language from "his or her" to "their" when referring to health care practitioners' scope of practice

Takes effect on the same date as the 2024 prenatal vitamin coverage law (S.1965-A/A.3865-A) that this bill amends
