Requires insurance policies that cover prostheses to also cover cranial prostheses (wigs or hairpieces) for individuals experiencing permanent or temporary medical hair loss

Coverage applies when a licensed provider prescribes the cranial prosthesis for treatment of diagnosed conditions including alopecia areata, alopecia medicamentosa, scarring alopecia, and lupus

Limits coverage to $750 per instance and no more frequently than once every 12 months, subject to applicable cost-sharing requirements

Applies to Medicaid, individual health insurance policies, group/blanket policies, and hospital/health service corporations

Takes effect immediately for policies issued, delivered, renewed, or modified after the effective date
