Mandates that individual health insurance policies, group health insurance policies, and health maintenance organizations (HMOs) cover annual electrocardiogram (EKG) tests and interpretation of results for children under age 19

Allows for more frequent EKG testing if ordered by a physician or other licensed professional authorized under their scope of practice, in accordance with prevailing clinical standards

Adds EKG coverage to Medicaid services for children 18 years of age or under, contingent upon receiving necessary federal approvals for federal financial participation in the costs

Applies to health insurance policies issued, delivered, renewed, or modified on or after the effective date of the act

Takes effect immediately upon passage
