Requires managed care insurance policies to cover medically tailored meals and medical nutrition therapy for individuals diagnosed with cancer, diabetes, Alzheimer's disease, or other dementias

Limits coverage to a maximum of 10 meals per week for up to three months per chronic condition diagnosis, with renewal available through a new assessment and prescription from a certified dietician, nutritionist, or medical doctor

Mandates that medically tailored meal vendors be pre-approved by the managed care plan and have their menus reviewed and approved by a certified dietician, nutritionist, or medical doctor

Allows insurers to apply reasonable deductibles, co-payments, and utilization review, but prohibits these from being more restrictive than those applied to other health services for chronic disease management

Takes effect 180 days after becoming law and applies to individual policies, group policies, and health service corporation contracts
