Creates the New York State Public Sector Employee Loan Forgiveness Program to attract workers to public sector employment

Requires applicants to have graduated from SUNY or CUNY with an undergraduate or graduate degree and be employed full-time in a state or local public sector position that requires that degree

Applicants must be New York State residents with outstanding student loan debt from their SUNY or CUNY degree

Awards up to $5,000 per year for a maximum of ten years, not exceeding the total remaining student loan balance

Awards are competitive and subject to available appropriated funds, with the Higher Education Services Corporation authorized to promulgate rules and regulations
