Establishes a State Seal of Financial Literacy to recognize high school graduates who demonstrate high proficiency in personal finance, budget management, and investment

School district participation in the program is voluntary, and no fee may be charged to students

The Board of Regents will establish criteria for earning the seal, which may include completing units of credit in social studies or economics

The Commissioner of Education will prepare and deliver insignia to be affixed to the diplomas and transcripts of students who earn the seal

Purposes include encouraging students to study personal finance, certifying financial literacy attainment, and providing employers and universities a method to identify candidates with financial literacy skills
