Requires insurers to ask all applicants whether their insurance policy will be submitted to a government agency to obtain a building permit for construction activities including erection, demolition, repair, alteration, painting, cleaning, or pointing of buildings

Applicants who confirm permit-related insurance must provide the name, address, and website of the relevant governmental agency, with all application information sworn to or affirmed

Insurers must notify the identified government agency within 10 days if a permit-related insurance policy lapses or is canceled during the policy period

Notification may be provided in writing or electronically to satisfy compliance requirements

If an insurer fails to provide timely notice to the government agency, the lapsed or canceled policy remains in full force and effect for the entire policy term

Takes effect 90 days after becoming law
