Expands the definition of "paid firefighter" under General Municipal Law Section 207-a to include firefighters employed by the New York State Division of Military and Naval Affairs who perform fire response or fire rescue duties

Requires the state to pay full salary or wages to Division of Military and Naval Affairs firefighters who are injured or become sick in the line of duty until their disability ceases

Makes the state liable for all medical treatment and hospital care costs for these firefighters during their disability period

Provides Division of Military and Naval Affairs firefighters the same supplemental disability benefits as municipal firefighters, including the difference between disability pension and regular salary until mandatory retirement age

Authorizes the Division of Military and Naval Affairs to apply for or appeal disability retirement allowances on behalf of its firefighters
