Prohibits boards of education, superintendents, principals, and teachers from requiring students to attend classes via remote or virtual learning as a form of punishment or disciplinary action

Creates an exception allowing remote learning as discipline for students who fail to follow state and local COVID-19 health and safety protocols, including mask requirements and social distancing rules

Requires any discipline involving remote learning for health protocol violations to be included in the school district's code of conduct and posted separately on the district's website

Amends Education Law Section 3214 by adding a new subdivision 3-b

Takes effect immediately upon passage
