Mandates that all health insurance policies providing hospital, surgical, or medical coverage must include doula services as part of required maternity care coverage

Applies to individual policies, group/blanket policies, and contracts issued by health corporations subject to New York insurance law

Adds doula services alongside the existing requirement to cover licensed midwife services for maternity care

Prohibits insurers from being required to pay for duplicative routine services provided by both a licensed midwife and a physician

Takes effect 180 days after becoming law and applies to all policies issued, renewed, modified, altered, or amended on or after that date
