Requires the chief administrator of the courts to assign a uniformed court officer to justice court proceedings upon request by a municipality, or coordinate law enforcement presence if no court officer is available

Prohibits municipalities from incurring any costs for law enforcement officer presence when substituting for unavailable court officers, with political subdivisions entitled to state reimbursement for court security services

Increases the maximum funding cap for justice court improvement grants from $30,000 to $250,000 per application

Expands allowable uses of justice court improvement funds to include costs for hiring nonjudicial court security and reimbursement for local law enforcement services

Extends New York State Court Officer Academy training eligibility to court officers assigned to or employed by unified justice courts, and requires academy training for uniformed court officers to qualify as peace officers
