Members who elect to join must pay all additional member contributions (6.25% of compensation) retroactively from their original EMT hire date, plus interest

Affects approximately 7 active members with an average age of 47.1 years and average service of 24.9 years

Increases employer contributions initially ($102,000 in FY 2026) but results in net savings starting in FY 2030, with costs allocated entirely to New York City
