Mandates employers verify each worker's employment eligibility through the federal E-Verify system and confirm they are not unauthorized noncitizens

Employers who knowingly hire unauthorized noncitizens will forfeit state funding for that public works project

First violation of verification requirements results in a formal warning; subsequent violations constitute a misdemeanor punishable by up to one year imprisonment and/or fines up to $25,000 per violation

Takes effect one year after becoming law and must comply with U.S. Department of Homeland Security regulations
