Expands wrongful death damages beyond pecuniary losses to include grief or anguish, loss of companionship, loss of nurture/guidance/counsel, and loss or diminishment of inheritance

Extends the statute of limitations for wrongful death actions from two years to three years after the decedent's death

Broadens eligibility for wrongful death beneficiaries to include domestic partners, persons standing in loco parentis to the decedent, and persons to whom the decedent stood in loco parentis (presumed when adult and minor share a household)

Removes the requirement that a decedent be survived by distributees for a wrongful death action to be maintained

Applies retroactively to all causes of action that accrued on or after January 1, 2022
