Amends Vehicle and Traffic Law Section 1144 to establish criminal penalties for failure to yield to authorized emergency vehicles, classifying violations as a misdemeanor

First conviction: fine up to $300, imprisonment up to 30 days, or both

Second conviction within 10 years: fine up to $600, imprisonment up to 90 days, or both

Third or subsequent conviction within 10 years: fine up to $900, imprisonment up to 180 days, or both

Takes effect immediately upon enactment
