Service beyond 25 years increases benefits by one-sixtieth of final average salary per additional year, capped at three-fourths of final average salary

Counties must elect to provide these benefits by adopting a resolution and filing it with the comptroller, with participating counties bearing all associated costs

Estimated fiscal impact includes approximately 6% increase in annual contributions for eligible member salaries plus a one-time past service cost of approximately 17% of eligible member salaries for electing counties
