Requires drivers on multi-lane roadways to create a center "rescue lane" when authorized emergency vehicles approach by moving to either edge of the roadway, rather than only to the right-hand edge

Mandates specific positioning during slow, stopped, or gridlocked traffic: leftmost lane drivers move left, rightmost lane drivers move right, and center lane drivers move toward either side to clear a center path

Maintains the requirement for single-lane roadways that drivers move as far right as possible for emergency vehicles to pass

Retains the obligation for emergency vehicle drivers to operate with reasonable care for all persons using the highway

Takes effect immediately upon passage
