Students who earn an average score of 80 across all ten Regents examinations and attain a Regents diploma receive 3 college credits toward general coursework at SUNY or CUNY institutions

Students who earn an average score of 85 across any four Regents examinations and attain a Regents diploma receive 3 college credits toward general coursework

Students who earn an average score of 90 across any four Regents examinations and attain a Regents diploma with advanced designation with honors receive 6 college credits toward general coursework

Students may only qualify under one credit provision and cannot combine multiple tiers of awards

Takes effect August 1, 2027, and explicitly does not make any Regents examination mandatory starting in the 2027-2028 school year
