Prohibits registered sex offenders from residing within 1,350 feet (approximately one quarter mile) of any school building, playground, park, or child day care facility

Defines "school" to include public, private, parochial, elementary, intermediate, junior high, vocational, and high schools used for instruction

Establishes penalties for violating the residency restriction: class A misdemeanor for first offense, class D felony for second or subsequent offenses

Requires the Division of Criminal Justice Services, parole officers, probation officers, and courts to notify sex offenders of the residency restriction both orally and in writing

Applies to sex offenders convicted or released on or after the effective date, with the restriction remaining in effect as long as the individual is classified as a sex offender
