Defines anesthesia time as the period from when the anesthesia provider begins preparing the patient in the operating room until the patient can be safely placed under post-anesthesia care

Prohibits insurers from establishing, implementing, or enforcing any policy or practice that imposes time limits for payment of anesthesia services during medical or surgical procedures

Mandates that payment for anesthesia services follow prevailing medical coding standards, including AMA procedural terminology codes, Medicare Claims Processing Manual, and American Society of Anesthesiologists guidance, with time units calculated in intervals of no more than 15 minutes

Applies to individual policies, group/blanket policies, and coverage provided by medical expense indemnity corporations, hospital service corporations, and health service corporations
