Allows Suffolk County correction officers in the New York State and Local Employees' Retirement System to purchase up to one year of service credit for each period of authorized unpaid leave related to the birth or adoption of a child

Requires members to have at least five years of credited service and file a claim by December 31, 2026 or within 90 days of the leave ending (whichever is later)

Members must contribute the amount they would have paid during the leave period, plus interest, based on their most recent 12 months of compensation and their mandatory contribution rate

Past service costs are estimated at approximately 25% of affected members' compensation per year of additional service credited, reduced by member contributions of 3% (Tier 5) or 6% (Tier 6)

All remaining costs beyond member contributions will be borne by Suffolk County
