Allows members of the optional 20-year retirement plan (Section 384-e) to receive credit for up to 5 years of previous service as a State University police officer, regional state park police officer, or detective investigator for the Office of the Attorney General

Provides additional pension credit equal to one-sixtieth of the member's final average salary for each year of prior qualifying service claimed

Requires members to pay 3% of their compensation earned during the 12 months immediately preceding the application for each year of service credit claimed

Estimated past service cost averages 22% of an affected member's compensation for each year of additional service credit granted, with costs shared by New York State and local participating employers

Takes effect immediately upon enactment
