Requires all general hospitals in New York to develop and maintain written policies for identifying, assessing, treating, and referring confirmed or suspected victims of firearm violence

Mandates hospitals establish ongoing training programs for nursing, medical, social work, clinical, and security personnel on firearm violence policies and procedures

Requires hospitals to designate a staff member to coordinate with psychiatric services for firearm violence victims in their geographic area

Obligates hospitals to advise firearm violence victims upon discharge about available psychiatric services and initiate coordination of those services if requested by the victim

Directs the Health Commissioner to consult with the New York State Firearm Violence Research Institute to develop a model policy and identify psychiatric service providers in each hospital's area; takes effect 90 days after becoming law
