Allows New York City fire protection inspector members of the NYC Employees' Retirement System to purchase up to one year of retirement service credit for each period of authorized unpaid child care leave taken under a collective bargaining agreement

Members must file a claim by December 31, 2025 or within 90 days of ending child care leave (whichever is later) and pay the contributions they would have made during the leave period, plus interest

Applies to employees with duties as fire protection inspector, associate fire protection inspector, or supervisors of such positions employed by NYC or the NYC Fire Department

Estimated to increase employer contributions by $1,000 per year of service purchased initially, with costs allocated entirely to New York City
