Amends over 100 sections across approximately 40 different New York laws to reflect the department's new name, including the banking law, education law, tax law, vehicle and traffic law, and public health law

Expands the department's mission to explicitly include support for military families, not just veterans, while maintaining all existing veteran services and protections
