Amends Mental Hygiene Law section 81.09 to allow courts to award compensation to court evaluators at any stage of guardianship proceedings, removing the previous distinction between granted and denied/dismissed petitions

Expands who may be required to pay court evaluator fees to include any or all of: the petitioner, the person alleged to be incapacitated, or the estate of the allegedly incapacitated person

Gives courts discretion to apportion court evaluator compensation among responsible parties "in such proportions as the court may deem just"

Retains existing provision allowing courts to award fees from the petitioner or decedent's estate when the allegedly incapacitated person dies before a determination is made
