Expands authority for direct support staff to administer medications in programs certified by the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities, including self-direction programs

Removes requirement for registered professional nurse supervision and memorandum of understanding between OPWDD and the department

Allows training to be provided by the individual with the disability, or their parent, legal guardian, or legally authorized representative, following consumer-directed principles

Permits parents, guardians, or authorized representatives to authorize trained direct support staff to administer medications when an individual cannot self-administer

Takes effect 180 days after becoming law and automatically expires July 1, 2030
