Recognizes founder Ryoichi "Richard" Matsushima, a first-generation immigrant from Himeji, Japan, who opened the restaurant in 1975 at age 20 as Binghamton's first hibachi restaurant

Notes the restaurant introduced sushi to the community ten years after opening and is one of the oldest Japanese restaurants operating in Upstate New York

Acknowledges the business is now owned and operated by the second generation, sons Michael and Andrew Matsushima

Directs that a copy of the resolution be transmitted to the Matsushima family
