White Plains City Hall, located at 255 Main Street, celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2026, having been completed and dedicated on February 22, 1926

The building was designed by Joseph H. Freelander, President of the Fine Arts Federation of New York, in Colonial Revival architectural style and constructed by John O'Rourke and Son for $500,000

Originally conceived in 1919 as a memorial to White Plains servicemen who died in World War I, the building contains bronze memorials honoring residents who served in all U.S. wars since the American Revolution

President Franklin D. Roosevelt addressed the community from City Hall's steps in 1933 during the city's 250th anniversary celebration, with over 5,000 marchers participating in a parade

The resolution formally commemorates the centennial and recognizes the building's continued role as the center of municipal government for White Plains
