The Town of Randolph, New York was created on February 1, 1826 when the New York State Legislature divided the Town of Conewango, with the first town meeting held at Benjamin Clark's house

Jeremiah York was elected as the first Town Supervisor and Andrew D. Smith as the first Town Clerk at the inaugural town meeting, moderated by Justice of the Peace Thomas Harvey

The town's population grew from approximately 30-40 pioneer families who purchased land from the Holland Land Company in 1826 to 776 residents by the 1830 census

Today, Randolph has a population of 2,400 citizens across 1,510 parcels, with Randolph Central School as the largest employer and the local economy supported by small businesses, manufacturing, and farms

The Bicentennial Celebration will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026, commemorating 200 years since the town's founding in Cattaraugus County in Western New York
