Fort Drum in Jefferson County is the largest military installation in the Northeastern United States and New York's largest single-site employer with a $1.9 billion economic impact

The 10th Mountain Division, reactivated at Fort Drum in 1985, is one of the most deployed divisions in the U.S. Army, serving in operations including Enduring Freedom, Iraqi Freedom, and humanitarian missions worldwide

More than 300 members of the 10th Mountain Division have died fighting global terrorism, and four soldiers have received the Medal of Honor

The installation is home to approximately 33,000 soldiers and family members who are integrated into the North Country communities
