Requests Governor Hochul proclaim February 3, 2026, as Four Chaplains Day, marking the 83rd anniversary of the USS Dorchester sinking that killed nearly 700 people in 1943

Honors four military chaplains of different faiths (Methodist, Jewish, Catholic, Dutch Reformed) who gave their life jackets to others and went down with the ship while praying together

Notes that Lieutenant Alexander D. Goode, one of the four chaplains, was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1911

All four chaplains were posthumously awarded the Purple Heart and Distinguished Service Cross, and Congress awarded a special one-time medal for valor in 1960

Directs copies of the resolution be sent to Governor Hochul and the American Legion Department of New York
