Philip "Hoot" Gibson is retiring after 65 years of service to the Morristown Volunteer Fire & Rescue Department in New York, having joined in 1960

Gibson served as an active first responder through all conditions, answering emergency calls at all hours across North Country winters and summers

He mentored generations of younger firefighters and served as a repository of departmental history throughout his tenure

The Assembly Resolution honors Gibson as a "true North Country hero" and directs that the resolution be permanently recorded in Department annals
