Requests Governor Kathy Hochul to proclaim April 2026 as Native Plant Month in New York State, coinciding with National Native Plant Month

New York is home to approximately 2,000 native plant species, including shade trees, shrubs, perennials, vines, grasses, and wildflowers

Approximately 340 plant species in New York are listed as endangered by the U.S. Department of Interior under the Endangered Species Act of 1973

Encourages residents to remove non-native invasive plants, plant native species, create pollinator gardens, and host native plant education events
