Amends New York Town Law to explicitly allow fire district employees to be nominated and appointed as fire chief or assistant fire chief

Clarifies that when a chief or assistant chief is also a district employee, the board of fire commissioners retains supervisory authority over their employee duties (separate from their chief duties)

Updates gendered language throughout the statute, replacing "he/his" with gender-neutral terms like "their," "such person," and "the chief"

Applies to both regular April nomination meetings and alternative nomination meeting dates (September or December) permitted for certain fire departments
