Adds operators and crew members of passenger commuter ferries to the list of protected workers under New York's second-degree assault statute (Penal Law § 120.05)

Applies when someone intentionally causes physical injury to ferry operators or crew while they are performing assigned duties related to ferry operations

Defines "passenger commuter ferry" by reference to subdivision (n) of section 300 of the tax law

Places ferry workers alongside other already-protected transit employees including train operators, bus operators, conductors, and station agents

Takes effect immediately upon enactment
