Prohibits the use of all leg-gripping traps for wildlife capture, eliminating current exceptions that allow such traps if they lack teeth in the jaws or meet certain jaw spread size limits

Removes provisions that previously permitted leg-gripping traps with jaw spreads up to 7¼ inches for underwater beaver/otter trapping and up to 5¾ inches in other cases

Eliminates requirements for covering and pan tensioning devices on leg-gripping traps exceeding 4 inches, as all such traps would be banned

Maintains the existing exception allowing leg-gripping traps for dealing with destructive and menacing wildlife under section 11-0523

Takes effect 30 days after becoming law
