Mandates that new supportive housing facilities be located in boroughs with the lowest current concentration of such facilities relative to their population

Requires community board or neighborhood board approval before any supportive housing facility can be sited, constructed, or established

Allows community or neighborhood boards to grant exemptions from the proportional distribution requirements for specific facilities

Defines supportive housing facilities as non-profit operated, government-funded residences providing housing and support services to individuals with mental illness, trauma, abuse, chemical dependency, chronic illness, as well as homeless shelters, shelters for abused women and children, and veteran shelters
