Grants peace officer status to public safety officers of the Chautauqua Institution when designated by the institution's board of trustees

Authorizes peace officer powers within Chautauqua Institution grounds and properties in Chautauqua County, including adjacent public streets and sidewalks

Permits officers to transport arrested individuals beyond institution grounds at the request of the Chautauqua County Sheriff when no local law enforcement is available

Requires candidates to complete the New York State basic course for peace officers with firearms and meet other statutory training requirements under section 2.30

Chautauqua Institution must provide legal defense, indemnification, and hold harmless applicable municipalities for claims arising from officer conduct, except when officers act as sheriff's agents
