Creates first-degree harassment of a law enforcement officer (class E felony) for communicating threats of physical harm or property damage via phone, computer, mail, or other means to an officer or their family member, when the actor knows the communication will cause reasonable fear

Establishes second-degree harassment of a law enforcement officer (class B misdemeanor) for physical contact, following in public places, or engaging in a course of conduct that alarms or seriously annoys an officer or family member with no legitimate purpose

Applies to acts committed because of the victim's status (or perceived status) as a law enforcement officer or their family member

Defines "law enforcement officer" broadly to include active or retired police, peace officers, sheriffs, probation/parole officers, correctional officers, fire marshals, federal law enforcement employees, and wildlife enforcement agents

Extends protections to members of the officer's "same family or household" as defined in Criminal Procedure Law section 530.11
