Creates a new crime of "stolen valor" under Penal Law section 190.24

Prohibits knowingly misrepresenting oneself as a member or veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces or organized militia by wearing unauthorized uniforms, medals, or insignia

Prohibits falsely claiming to be a recipient of military decorations or medals created to honor service members or veterans

Requires intent to obtain money, property, or another tangible benefit for the misrepresentation to constitute a crime

Classifies stolen valor as a class A misdemeanor, punishable by up to 1 year in jail
