Expands optional disability coverage under General Municipal Law Section 207-c to allow any county to provide benefits to county probation officers injured or made sick in the performance of their duties

Currently only Nassau County has the option to provide this disability coverage to probation officers; the bill extends this option to all counties statewide

Covered probation officers would receive full regular salary or wages until their disability ceases, plus all medical treatment and hospital care costs paid by the employing municipality

Medical providers cannot collect or attempt to collect reimbursement directly from covered employees for treatment provided under this section

Takes effect immediately upon enactment
