Authorizes licensed pharmacists to administer FDA-approved reversible progestin-only contraceptive injections (such as Depo-Provera) in addition to dispensing self-administered hormonal contraceptives

Requires pharmacists to complete training approved by the commissioner and provide patients with a self-screening risk assessment questionnaire and fact sheet at least every 12 months

Pharmacists must notify the patient's primary health care practitioner within 72 hours of administering the injection, unless the patient opts out of notification

Allows physicians and certified nurse practitioners to issue non-patient specific orders authorizing pharmacists to administer these contraceptive injections

Takes effect one year after becoming law, with regulatory changes authorized to be completed before the effective date
