Adds menacing (sections 120.13, 120.14, 120.15 of the penal law) and stalking (sections 120.45, 120.50, 120.55, 120.60 of the penal law) to the list of qualifying offenses for which courts may set bail

Expands criminal contempt provisions to include cases where the protected party under a violated order of protection is a victim of menacing or stalking, not just family or household members

Amends both section 510.10 (bail and recognizance) and section 530.40 (securing orders in criminal court) of the criminal procedure law to include these new qualifying offenses

Allows police to issue appearance tickets requiring court appearance for these newly added qualifying offenses rather than immediate release

Takes effect immediately upon passage
