Defines covered services as nutritional assessment, therapy, and counseling provided by a certified dietician or nutritionist, plus any food indicated by such assessment

Requires services to be ordered by a licensed health care professional for treating one or more chronic conditions in individuals with limitations in daily living activities

Coverage is contingent on federal financial participation in the costs of these services

Takes effect 180 days after becoming law, with the Commissioner of Health required to immediately begin adopting implementing regulations
