Requires the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) to develop a public mapping tool by December 31, 2027, to help schools evaluate cost-effective renewable energy options and identify suitable sites for renewable energy systems

NYSERDA must conduct a study within 12 months of the act's effective date examining the financial feasibility of converting each public school district to renewable energy as its primary energy source

The study must assess schools' ability to house independent energy generation and storage, connect to existing renewable sources (solar farms, wind farms, geothermal, hydrogen plants), and create microgrids linking schools to local renewable energy

NYSERDA must submit an initial report to the governor and legislative leaders within 3 months of completing the mapping and study, including recommendations for efficient conversion methods and financial incentive programs

A second report is due within 12 months of completing the mapping and study, containing projections on sustainability and long-term maintenance costs for the recommended renewable energy projects
